Sonia Rykiel Spring 2011 Beauty, Loved By the Masses

Sonia Rykiel’s Spring 2011 collection was amazingly fun, inviting, and full of life. The French designer stuck with her true definite style she’s has had for years, and refined it, just so then the collection can be glued together with awe-inspiring makeup, hair, and a gorgeous collection with some great color blocked garments.
The hair, a bit similar to the idea of Marc Jacobs that season, was big and full of texture. Wavy, almost curly tresses were styled largely on the models’ heads. It added to the fun, natural collection. Plus, the hair styling was a refreshed way to escape the ever loved sleek, slicked-back look. I must admit, the hair should encourage you, because it encouraged me to debut my natural tresses. (Marc Jacobs, Sonia Rykiel, and Badgley Mischka all gave me that pro-curl feeling.) I also largely embraced Sonia Rykiel’s vision for hair in this collection, because it was perfectly complimented with gorgeous black hats, another trend that will grace the street scene. The hat pushing the hair down, framed the beautiful models’ faces. (It was especially great on the gorgeous, gap-toothed, All-American Lindsey Wixson.)
Then there was the makeup! A dramatic eye of the usual black eye liner and mascara, topped with a light faint brown eye shadow, surrounded the whole eye. A great practical eye look! Then a gorgeous fuchsia lip adds a pop of color into the beginning of a neutral look. The bold lip suggested feminine freedom, a woman bursting with energy and ripe potential, a great beauty look for Spring, eh?
Altogether I was impressed, a large majority was. Along with the clothes, Rykiel’s beauty was a thoughtful addition to the collection. Well done!
