Top 5 Collections–Featuring Shoes

of

Fall 2011

#5

Dolce & Gabbana

Photo: Alessandro Viero / GoRunway.com

Designer: Stefano Gabbana, Domenico Dolce

Where: Milan

Why: The footwear debuted with Dolce & Gabbana’s fall 2011 collection will most likely land to be the public’s most fluent trend. Along with the flamboyant collection, the shoes were energetic–might I say fabulously “goofy”.

#4

Prada

Designer: Miuccia Prada

Where: Milan

Why: “Especially noteworthy were the latter, including boots offered in a killer trompe l’oeil combo of high heel and knee-high, particularly provocative in python.”

Missoni

Designer: Margherita Missoni
Where: Milan
Why: I absolutely loved the snake-skin, and the seemingly casual approach to wearing it. Indeed, the look of a rain boot can be chic.

#2

Emilio Pucci

Designer: Peter Dundas

Where: Milan

Why: The shoes were sophisticated, held edge, and were so functional–need I say more?

#1

Balenciaga

Designer: Nicolas Ghesquière

Where: Paris

Why: “The shoe, a pointy-toed multi-strap Mary Jane with a stiletto heel, was as normal as they come here, although close observers will have noticed that the hand-painting and rococo details extended to the soles.”
