Resort 2012: Louis Vuitton, More Beautiful Garments

It’s been a whirlwind of year for Louis Vuitton. In fact, let’s just flashback to Louis Vuitton’s past autumn collection of 2011. It was a production of splendor — older supermodels brought to life, the gorgeous clothing, and the runway show itself was mere perfection. Nevertheless, let us not forget that the show was crazily covered in the media, and in that sense made it terribly overrated! However, even in approximately three months Louis Vuitton’s Marc Jacobs has created another worthy collection to live to the name — Louis Vuitton.

On this occasion — in the Resort 2012 season, Jacobs stuck to the strong vintage vibe he has recently been using in his garments. Last fall 2011 season, he harnessed the 40’s with a risqué, entertaining twist. Thereafter, cruise collections began their debut, and Louis Vuitton’s theme swung around the late 40’s and 50’s. (The transition from flapper to happy house-wife was pretty evident.) It was playful — yet strongly sophisticated. After all, my favorite moments upon seeing the collection were the various array of plaid, tweed jackets/coats strewn throughout. Plus, a pretty loafer here and there tickled my fancy just as much.

I can’t say I was very much disappointed…However, I can say it was very cute.
