Tyra Banks Releases Fantasy Novel — and Maybe a Disney Show Next?

Word gets around quick; so if you haven’t stumbled upon the news on Tyra Banks’ new fantasy trilogy you don’t get a chance to share a synchronized laugh with the rest of the world. Yes, Tyra Banks is due to release her fantasy novel titled “Modelland” September 13th, and — no — it isn’t lacking any amounts of absurdity from my understanding.
The young adult novel inspired by Banks’ life, is what Banks dubbs a “story [that] happens in a make-believe place called Modelland — every girl in the world wants to go there because it’s where ‘Intoxibellas’ are trained. Intoxibellas are drop-dead beautiful, kick-butt fierce and, yeah, maybe they have some powers too.” Terms such as “Catwalk Corridor” and “Thigh High Boot Camp” come into play as well — as if.
However, most people are still on a humor-high when it comes to reliving Banks’ Good Morning America appearance. The Huffington Post says “As a tie-in to the novel, Banks was sporting a curious look: a gold sparkly wing attached above her left eye. To begin the interview, perplexed anchor Robin Roberts could only gesture to Tyra’s face and ask, ‘OK, what’s up?’ And thus Tyra began her trip to Crazy Town.” Evidently, Tyra Banks soon later revealed that the “gold sparkly wing” is a “smize” — an item that increases your opportunities of becoming a supermodel, or Intoxibella.
I hope that “Modelland” doesn’t turn into an aimless movie for teens, because I think that’s where Banks might be heading; instead, the ex-supermodel herself actually gave proposal to a Disney television show. In fact, she told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America that she “look[s] up to Walt Disney[…] I want years from now for people to be experiencing Modelland or whatever it is and for the mom to go, ‘You know that was a girl named Tyra who started that,’ and that girl is like, ‘Really — who cares? Let’s go on this ride!’ or let’s do this or let’s read this book or watch this show.”
Ummm, if that day does come to pass, that is the marker that our world is ending.
